WESTERN BUREAU:

JOHNNY GOURZONG of Reggae Sumfest has joined the impressive list of professionals who are billed to perform at the Western Jamaica Media Association (WJMA) much-anticipated 'Professional Stars in Concert' on Sunday, June 11.

The much anticipated event should be entertainment with a refreshing difference at the Half Moon Conference Centre in Rose Hall.

Unlike most major concerts, this event, which has been endorsed by Half Moon and Digicel, will unveil the singing, deejaying, dancing and acting skills of several renowned personalities from the tourism, theatre, media, show business and medical sectors.

UNKNOWN

While some members of the cast are virtually unknown as performers, others, such as Lloyd B. Smith, managing director/editor of the Western Mirror, 2006 Best Actress Makeda Solomon, Horace Peterkin, Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association president , Summerfest Production Director Robert Russell and medical practitioner Dr. Michael 'Medikal' Godfrey, are well known and respected.

Although they are not renowned on the entertainment circuit, other personalities include Sandals Resort International's Brian Roper and Scott Robbins, Swept Away Couples Negril's Ricardo Bowleg, Summerfest Productions Robert Russell, and attorney-at-law Jeannie Robinson-Foster.

Digicel's national sales manager Joy Clarke and her twin sister Juliet Smith, as well as MiPhone's Rosemarie Ivey, are all expected to add that extra flavour to the line-up.

For persons close to the production, the real excitement could come from the Bad Girls Dancers - the trio of Marline Stephenson-Dalley of TVJ's 'School Challenge Quiz', Janet Silvera of The Gleaner and Latoya Johnson, of the RJR Communication Group; Fab Nine which comprises Ann Chen, Cecile Levee, Joan Lee, Jackie Bird, Sandra Kennedy Lyn, Lyn Scott, April Parchment, Karen Neita and Maureen Shaw, as well as Las Chicas with Sheilagh Jardim and Kathy Dears.
