Collins to target Dravid
published: Saturday | June 10, 2006

CASTRIES, St. Lucia (CMC):

WEST INDIES left-arm seamer Pedro Collins says Indian captain Rahul Dravid will be a key target in the second Digicel Test that starts today at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.

"He is one of the best players in the team and kind of a marked man for us. If you get him early, you can put a lot of pressure on the rest," Collins, who has been recalled to the team in place of his injured brother Fidel Edwards, told the Press Trust of India.

"I look forward to get a chance to bowl and surprise him."

The 29-year-old Collins has had a chequered career for the West Indies, playing just 29 Tests since making his debut back in 1999 against Australia in the Caribbean.

He came to prominence somewhat during the 2001-02 home series against India when he captured the prized wicket of Sachin Tendulkar on three occasions.

Collins has been plagued with injury, however, and last played a Test for the West Indies during the home series against South Africa in April last year.
