ANOTHER OF St. James' 10 most wanted men has been shot dead by the police, bringing to three the number of persons killed since their identities were revealed two months ago.
He is 22-year-old Yanique Davis, alias 'Grimes', of Paradise, Norwood, in the parish. Police confirmed yesterday that he was the prime suspect behind a triple murder which shocked the district on June 8.
A warrant was also out for his arrest in relation to the triple killing of Nitonye Christie, Gareth Clarke and his wife Claudette. All three were shot dead minutes apart at their homes.

"We are appealing to the residents to help us catch these criminals. Help us to help you," said Detective Superintendent Wilford Gayle, the commanding officer in charge of crime for Area One. He said the police were working relentlessly in their attempt to dismantle and disrupt all gangs in the parish.
Corporal Peter Salkey, the Constabulary Communication Network liaison officer for St. James, told The Gleaner yesterday that a police party was on patrol in an area known as Gulf about 8:45 on Monday night. Four men who were leaning on a truck ran as the police approached them and allegedly fired at the lawmen. An exchange of gunfire ensued. When the gun battle subsided, Davis was found gripping a Taurus 9mm pistol, registered TRE04248, with one round. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
Within half an hour of Davis' death, gunmen shot dead 76-year-old Leslie Brown, along Joan Avenue, a short distance from where Davis was killed. Up to press time yesterday evening, police had not yet identified Mr. Brown's killers.
