UN mission may visit Puerto Rico
published: Thursday | June 15, 2006

UNITED NATIONS (CMC):

St. Lucia's outgoing ambassador to the United Nations, Julian Hunte, says the United Nations Special Committee on Decolonisation may visit Puerto Rico soon, as that country continues its bid for self-determination.

Hunte made the disclosure Tuesday as the U.N. body ended two days of hearings following which it approved a draft resolution calling on the United States to expedite Puerto Rico's push for self-government.
