THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM disheartened at the terrible situation Jamaica has found itself in. The economy has been in the doldrums for far too long, and the nation's social climate is one in need of repair. All this in the face of immense infighting in the governing People's National Party. Could someone please tell me what Portia Simpson Miller is doing to address the problems faced by the country and her party?
In my view, since the ascendancy of Portia Simpson Miller to Prime Minister, there has been absolutely no indication that things will be any different. The cement crisis is a clear enough indication of things going down the drain. Instead of taking decisive decisions, the Prime Minister 'dilly dallied' away with the crisis. As usual, nobody held responsible and no indication of being new and different.
I am now convinced that after nearly two decades in government, it is high time for the Jamaican people, both at home and abroad, to rally together and remove this atrocious government from office.
I am, etc.,
