A MANHUNT has been launched for nine murder suspects the St. Andrew police say are on a list of the parish's most wanted men.
According to a report from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the information arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the men are wanted for several murders in the Corporate Area.
At least three of the suspects are said to be from the volatile Jungle Twelve area in St. Andrew. They include 28-year-old Marvin Somers, otherwise called 'Jerry Max'; Andrew Walker, also called 'Mampie Zeeks', and a man known only as 'Richie Coot'. Jerry Max is wanted for murder in August Town, while Mampie Zeeks and Richie Coot are wanted for murders committed on Wellington Road, last year.
MURDER AND WOUNDING
Another man known only as 'Bully', of a Waltham Park address, is wanted in connection with murder and wounding with intent, committed in the Hagley Park area, late last year. Kwunda Sylvester Robinson, known as 'Kunda', is wanted for a murder committed in the vicinity of Ambrook Lane, Half-Way Tree, last year.
At least one of the wanted men goes by three names. He is Richard Jackson who is also known as Richard Northover, Marlon Richards and 'Ritchie', from Dallas Castle, Plaintain Walk and Lyndas Gap.
The other suspects are Hopeton Edwards, a.k.a. 'Ribsy'; also of the Plaintain Walk area of Dallas Castle; Richard Brown, a.k.a. 'Chin' of a Kingston 20 address; and Germaine Campbell, a.k.a. 'Thunder' of 39 Excarpment Road.
MOST DANGEROUS
When contacted, George Quallo, the senior superintendent in charge of the St. Andrew Central Police Division, told The Gleaner that, of the nine men, Mampie is considered the most dangerous.
"He has been eluding us for a long while," SSP Quallo said. "I would really love to see him off the road."
Noting that the police have sought these men by visiting the areas they are known to frequent, he said, "We are seeking the assistance of the public to find out where these persons are."
He added that persons, with information they believe may assist the police in their investigations, can contact 119 or Crime Stop at 1-888-991-4000.
