THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM truly appalled at the Jamaican policing policies; they are not honestly trying to tackle crime in a positive way.
Occasionally, they issue a list of wanted men, so why not publish photos of them, have these photos all over the media and on every high street, offer large rewards that give us all an incentive to take action to assist?
I am sure that serious business people both local and abroad will gladly put up the necessary money. If the police were to stop trying to impose themselves on decent citizens along our roads and concentrate instead on ridding us of these unwanted criminals, then Jamaica would be a better place for all.
If politicians were serious about crime fighting policies, we could eliminate crime in Jamaica in one month. Many including the police, know exactly where these gangs of criminals hang out, reside or terrorise.
The many licensed firearm holders could assist. We really need to out-gun the gunners and to do it now before another decent individual becomes the next statistic of these ignorant pests.
These so-called gun boys are acting out the role of outlaws, terrorising innocent folks, so why can't the police act out the role of the sheriff along with a few good deputies, and eliminate the problem?
I am, etc.,
