GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):
THE GUYANA Cricket Board (GCB) named three uncapped players this weekend in their squad for next month's Stanford Twenty20 tournament in Antigua.
Former national youth player Imran Khan, wicket-keeper Tyrell Tull and allrounder Deon Ferrier are the new faces in Guyana's 13-man squad for the tournament, starting on July 11.
The list includes five players with West Indies international experience - captain Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, both current West Indies middle-order batsmen, spinners Mahendra Nagamootoo and Neil McGarrell and batsman Narsingh Deonarine.
Notable absentees are other West Indies players Reon King and Sewnarine Chattergoon.
King is playing league cricket in England and West Indies one-day opening batsman Chattergoon is expected to be selected for the West Indies 'A' team tour of England this summer.
Orin Forde and Jeremy Gordon have been named as reserves for the squad that has Carl Moore as manager and Albert Smith as coach.
Guyana will open their campaign for the whopping US$1 million winners' prize by facing Montserrat on Friday July 21.
