JAMAICAN WINSTON Thompson logged his fourth triple of the current season as he dominated Saturday's horse racing programme at Suffolk Downs and stayed on top of the jockeys' standings.

Thompson won the second, fifth and ninth races and climbed to 26 wins, five ahead of second-placed Edwin Molinari (21) in the six-week-old season.

EASY WIN

In the US$9,800 second race over a mile, Thompson steered the 3-to-2 favourite Roop's Loop to an easy win over Molinari's mount Sharp Insult.

He pushed the five-year-old mare to lead from the start and pulled clear in the seven-horse field to score a 7-1/2 length victory in one minute 40.35 seconds.

He collected his second win of the afternoon with the three-year-old gelding Silk Reparations in the US$6,076 fifth race over a mile and 70 yards, coming from behind to grab a narrow victory as the 5-2 second favourite.

HALF-LENGTH BEHIND

In a very close three-horse finish, the 11-1 chance Pop Tucker was half-length behind in second and Running Buckeroo (4-1) was only a nose further behind in third spot.

Thompson's third victory came astride the 3-2 favourite Citi Prancer in the US$17,640 ninth race over six furlongs.

The three-time Suffolk Downs champion jockey sent Citi Prancer to lead approaching the final turn and sprinted away from his rivals for a huge 12-3/4 length victory in 1:11.45.
