A MOBILE health clinic donated by Jamaican entrepreneur Vincent Hosang, of Royal Caribbean Bakery, is to be unveiled at a civic reception at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus, tomorrow.
The mobile clinic, which was donated by the Vincent Hosang Family Foundation, is valued at more than US$150,000. It is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art dental and medical facility. The unit will be turned over to the Organisation for International Development (OID) and will become the centrepiece of the organisation's biannual medical mission to Jamaica. The mobile unit will be made available to other non-governmental organisations on a prearranged basis.
Dr. Roy Streete, president and founder of OID, said that his organisation is grateful to the Hosang Family Foundation for its generosity.
Launched in 1990, OID is a New York, United States-based, non-profit, volunteer organisation, committed to promoting the spirit of benevolence and to advance and preserve the health, welfare and physical well-being of the needy and poor throughout the diaspora, by engaging in charitable projects.
