IF YOU want a Jamaican experience through massage, scrub, wrap or facial, Red Lane Spa at Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa in Whitehouse, Westmoreland, is the place to go. They cater to the mind, body and spirit, utilising Jamaican products such as the famed Blue Mountain Coffee and sweet ortantique orange in the treatments. Red Lane Spa, located at all Sandals and Beaches Resorts, was inspired by the tropics and drawn from the traditions of Europe. The collection of sanctuaries for the body and soul, reinterprets classic European rituals with a distinctive Caribbean flair. These magical temples of rejuvenation are said to offer a selection of exclusive services that transform the quest for beauty into a journey of endless self-discovery.
RED LANE Spa at Whitehouse is said to be like no other. There are 10 treatment rooms, a couples sanctuary and a meditation area. The couples sanctuary is a huge room much like a master bedroom with two massage tables and an enormous jacuzzi. The perimeter of the room has candles creating a romantic setting. Here couples can sit in the Jacuzzi while enjoying a glass of champagne. The sanctuary offers many different packages, including 'love portion # nine.' The duration is anywhere between 80 minutes to four hours.
The meditation area is a massive open space with two lounge chairs, plus a hot and cold plunge pool. Surrounded by lots of flowers and palm trees, this is the perfect hideaway where couples can relax.
As you enter the spa, the nostrils and palate come with the sweet aroma of scented oils and candles. The calming music will also relax the mind, especially after a tiring day. The spa is rated at the top of its class and emerged number one for the first quarter of this year.
Paulette Clarke, spa manager at Red Lane Whitehouse said they are rated the best as they strive for excellence. She told the Lifestyle team that from inception their staff were fresh out of school, was eager and willing to learn. "We did a lot of on-the-job training. I tell staff that we are not asking for perfection just excellence. They have come to believe it so they give clients quality service," said Ms. Clarke.
