False teachings about hell
published: Saturday | June 24, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR. IAN Boyne's programme, 'Religious Hard Talk', goes beyond its usefulness, as it did on Tuesday June 20, when it platforms well-known false teachings.

Boyne believes the word eternal does not always mean forever. He cites hermeneutically atrocious references to Old Covenant passages to deny the nature and existence of a Hell. Old Testament truths are conditioned on the fuller perspective of the New Testament teachings. Hebrews 1:1 is candid on the nature of New Testament truths in relation to the Old, which are often limited and are frequently unsuitable for Christian doctrinal verifications.

The term eternal, as Boyne's terms such as, consume, death or even destroy, would have no meaning if treated similarly by the talk show host.

Mr. Boyne, is everlasting fire ever asserted to be the fate of the Devil and his angels and will Satan only be burnt- up?

I am, etc.,

CHRISTOPHER

KENNEDY
