Three locals in 'A' Team

THREE JAMAICAN fast bowlers, Jerome Taylor, Daren Powell and Andrew Richardson, were named by the West Indies Cricket Board yesterday in a 16-man West Indies 'A' Team for the Digicel tour of England in July and August this year.

The squad will be captained by Sylvester Joseph and he will have Ryan Hinds as his deputy. In addition to Joseph and Hinds the squad includes nine other players with international experience.

West Indies senior team manager Anthony Howard will serve as manager and assistant coach David Moore has been appointed head coach for the tour. West Indies strength and conditioning coordinator Bryce Cavanagh has also been seconded to the squad for the duration of the tour. Phyllis Burnett is the team physiotherapist.

The squad departs the Caribbean on July 17th and returns on August 21st.

Squad: Sylvester Joseph (captain), Ryan Hinds (vice captain), Devon Smith, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Runako Morton, Dwayne Smith, Lendl Simmons, Jason Mohammed, Darren Sammy, Patrick Browne (wicketkeeper), Richard Kelly, Jerome Taylor, Daren Powell, Tino Best, Dave Mohammed and Andrew Richardson.
