THIS IS a hell of a week! Can you imagine if National Water Commission (NWC) workers had prolonged their strike? The strike came so suddenly that even the Government was caught flat-footed. Water is life. Many people would have to boil sea water or go to the beach or river to have a bath. The pond would be the right place for hidden cameras. Meanwhile, some people would just have to turn to dry-cleaning or the good Kus-Kus perfume.
LIFE IS SHORT
I just got the news that an acquaintance was shot by her husband who later committed suicide. Young
wasted blood and life. There are some people who take life too seriously. You can meet them in the lotto lines with no smile on their faces. There are some men who take their women like mere possessions such as their jeep and mansion. There are a lot of wives who are scared of their husbands, who are overly jealous and possessive. It is not every relationship that the parties will allow mediators not even parents. Some men expect their wives to be press buttons and to just jump. Life is nice and it is filled with stress. We cannot let the stress go to our head that we just loose our cool and we go over the edge. In this material world, we have to try and give ourselves the chance to live like the people of old.
This was a nice week for sports. The twenty/20 cricket is going to create a bag of excitement. This is the time that our second tier cricketers will make some money. Holmwood captured the Spauldings Cup and the Windies standing up solid to India. All of a sudden, everyone is loving Lara and all the bad memories belong to the past.
WORLD CUP
The excitement is a pitch with the World Cup football. Can you imagine the excitement in Osaka or Tokyo when Japan scored on Brazil? That footballer will always cherish that memory for life, and he will get a hero's welcome at home. Brazil won the game, but Japan was able to pierce their net. I must congratulate Ecuador, Portugal, Australia, Ghana and Spain, to move on to the second round. These are the teams I will be watching. The big fish as far as I am concerned has not impressed me so far. I am still not tickled by the Netherlands, Germany and Brazil. I am happy that USA boards the plane similar to Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad and Tobago should feel proud to be on the world stage and the mighty USA did not outshine them at all. I hope that Ronaldo scores his record goal and take up the job to come and coach the Reggae Boyz along with Johnny Barnes. I feel bad to see how the world was booing Ronaldo at one moment and when he starts to find form, he is a hero. He must be laughing to himself. They treated him just like they are dealing with our Prime Minister, deliver, deliver or else. Meanwhile, Miroslav Klose of Germany is the leading goal scorer in this tournament so far.
The Jackpot for Saturday crept up on us quietly at a whopping $40 million. Most folks were solid broke on Wednesday and the money could not stretch to buy the amount of tickets that they need. I can tell you that this weekend things are going to change.
The numbers for last Saturday were: 7, 13, 25, 28, 34, 36 with the bonus ball of 9. This was a tough draw. The numbers last Wednesday were: 2, 8, 12, 14, 15, 19 and the bonus ball of 11. There were the consecutive numbers of 14 and 15. I can predict that the high end numbers will be back this weekend and one of the numbers will be repeated and I think it is 19.
Go out and dine with your woman. Treat her good, kiss her and buy her a nice bottle of wine. Tell her you will love her endlessly. Please tell her that you were not happy how the children bought you a pair of socks for Father's Day.
