Prime Minister of Jamaica to get new press chief
published: Friday | June 30, 2006

ROBINSON

COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT Lincoln Robinson is being recruited as Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller's press secretary.

Information Minister Colin Campbell confirmed reports yesterday that the communications specialist is now in advanced negotiations with the Government to take up the post.

Since former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson demitted office in March, there has been speculation as to whether Sandra Graham, the then press secretary, would be asked to stay on in that position in the new administration.

However, after nearly three months in office, Mrs. Simpson Miller is believed to have given the nod to Mr. Robinson, a journalist who worked with the now defunct Jamaica Broad-casting Corporation (JBC) in the 1970s and 1980s and is a former managing director of the Jamaica Observer.
