In defence of Paulwell

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I DISAGREE with the call to censure Mr. Paulwell. What he reported to Parliament was based on the available information at the time. If I'm not mistaken, the investigative report was not yet available. If Mr. Paulwell made an error, it was not waiting for the report to become available.
'Unnu' leave Mr. Paulwell alone. He is one of the most capable ministers in either party currently in Parliament today. The ire should be directed at Carib Cement for failing to live up to its commitment to our country. In their complacency, they believed that they could get away with selling rubbish cement to Jamaicans. Mr. Paulwell acted correctly in putting a stop to their activities and acted swiftly to determine the root cause of the problem, ensured new supply of cement became available, and implemented corrective actions to prevent future reoccurrence. What more can he be expected to do when the cement crisis was caused by Carib?
'Unnu' leave the man alone and let him do his job.
I am, etc.,
