THE STUDENTS of two more basic schools will get much needed help from the Hilton's Sixth Annual K.I.D.S. Charity Golf tournament.

After another group of amateurs and celebrities totally embarrassed themselves on the golf course while envying the professionals, it was time for a relaxing Sunday evening by the Hilton Kingston Hotel pool for the awards dinner.

The theme for the evening was 'Bellisima Italia, A Taste Of Rome' so there was plenty of pasta. The entertainment, naturally, had an Italian theme to it with Poala Samprini and Pietro Tartamella delighting with their voices, accompanied by the maestro on piano, Valerio Cantori.

So, after an Italian buffet, there were prizes galore, including Worst Score for women and men, Player With the Greatest Potential and Highest Overseas Player. Stays at posh local hotels like Hedonism III and Beaches Sandy Bay and camera phones were just a few of the prizes package.

Golf veteran Maggie Lyn took the top ladies prize (the 0-14 handicap category) while Philip Gooden triumphed overall among the men (0-9 handicaps). And don't get us started on the raffle prizes; there were just too many.

At the end though, the reason for this tournament was still evident; to help the young learn by improving their means to do so. Looking forward to next year.
