IN THEIR fifth year of sponsorship, Sherwin Williams committed $2.3 million to this year's women's football competitions at a press conference at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) offices yesterday.
The Colour Scape Knockout will be the first of three competitions sponsored by Sherwin Williams to kick off.
That competition begins on July 2 with a game between Maverley Hughenden and Trelawny.
The Premier League and the A League are scheduled to commence on either July 8 or 9.
The winner of the Knockout competition will take home $30,000, while the second-placed team will earn $20,000.
The third and fourth placed teams will receive the same prize money of $10,000.
The KO competition also has a fair play award, the recipient of which will receive the Elaine Walker-Brown Trophy along with $5,000.
The Most Valuable Player of the final round and the top goalscorer of the competition will receive $2,500 each.
INCENTIVE
In the Premier League there will be a prize of $175,000 for the winner and $125,000 for the runners-up. The third and fourth placed teams will receive $55,000.
The mid-season incentive in the Premier League will see the winner picking up $40,000, while the runners-up will collect $30,000.
The fair play awardee from the Premier League will earn the Crenston Boxhill Trophy and $10,000. The Most Valuable Player crown will also attract $10,000 with the winning coach receiving the same.
The Premier League's top goalscorer, the MVP of the final round and the winning captain will bag $5,000 each.
Each club will also receive a jersey subsidy of $10,000.
In the A League, the prizes to be awarded are a little smaller, but still represent a significant increase over last year.
The winner of the A League is set to take home $90,000, while second go home $70,000 richer. The third and fourth placed teams receive $40,000 each.
The mid-season incentive for the A League will see the winners earn $30,000 while the second-placed team wins $25,000.
There will also be a fair play award in the A League, with the awardee being the recipient of the Ian Forbes Trophy and $5,000.
As in the premiership, the MVP of the final round, the top goalscorer and the winning captain will all receive the same prize - $2,500. The season's MVP will claim $5,000.
The A League's winning coach will be made $5,000 richer, while the coach of the year will double that take.
