SUMMER IS HERE and it brings with it lots of parties and beach days-out. While on your excursions, your outer beauty should be sparkling today. Flair offers pointers on perfecting your skin and avoiding a few beauty blunders.
HONEY, CORNMEAL CLEANSE
There are many grocery items in the kitchen that are excellent skin cleansing agents. For an at-home scrub, try milk, cornmeal and honey, says Karel Dawes, certified make-up artist. "First, wash face thoroughly. Then apply the milk (not condensed) and cornmeal combination to the face. Gently rub on to face and then wash off. Afterwards, while face is damp, apply the honey. Allow to dry and then wash off. This will tighten the pores opened to remove dirt or oil that were embedded under the skin.
This is not a complete facial, but will scrub your face exfoliating the skin and removing dead cells," says Mrs. Dawes.
CONCEALING STRETCH MARKS
Wrapped in a flattering swimsuit your perfect look is shattered by stretch marks, scrolled down your skin. Black Opal Cover Stick might be your lucky charm, says image consultant and former international fashion model, Althea Laing. "It does a very good job of concealing stretch marks. Plus, it is water resistant so before putting on your swimsuit rub it on to your skin.
In addition, the cover stick comes in different shades so more than likely you are able to find one that matches your skin type," says Ms. Laing.
OOPS! IT CAME OFF
You are out with a cute guy. At the end of the date there is a goodnight hug. Upon releasing you notice that a large spread of foundation comes off on his white shirt. "Oops, Sorry!" you embarrassingly utter.
Any brand of foundation, powder or concealer can cause these embarrassing moments. However, you do not make your own cosmetics so here is a pointer to eliminate this occurrence.
Use Johnson's Baby Powder to seal your cosmetic foundation, says Althea Laing.
"After applying your foundation and matching powder what you need to do is put on a little Johnson's Baby Powder. Put a little in your palm then use a make-up wedge and apply the powder to the face."
