ALL PRIMARY schools should have the results of the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) in hand by today, according to Adelle Brown, chief education officer at the Ministry of Education and Youth, as several began receiving the information on the weekend.
Mrs. Brown said the Education Ministry's regional offices were opened over the weekend to facilitate schools to pick up the results, which were delayed because of what the Education Ministry claimed was the inability to
identify additional secondary places as some 2,000 more students sat the examination this year.
"All offices were opened (over the weekend). I am sure everyone should get it by tomorrow (today)," she told The Gleaner yesterday.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Brown dismissed rumours circulating since last week that there were concerns about possible cheating on the exam.
"I don't know about any cheating. It was never reported to me ... so I don't know what they (the media) are talking about," she said. She also said the delays would have no negative implications for the children who have been placed.
