THE BOARD of a private high school in May Pen, Clarendon, is to decide the fate of a 15-year-old boy following what seemed to be an attempted bombing of the institution.
Gleaner sources at the May Pen High School say the third former was caught last Monday after he planted a home-made device on the compound. The sources say the attempt was one of two made by the juvenile over a period of about three weeks. About one week before, a gas line was broken on the compound and a bottle with kerosene found.
Sources at the school told The Gleaner the boy was caught after guards were set up to monitor the premises after another device was found behind a toilet at the institution. The student was subsequently caught when he attempted to remove the device.
The boy, who admitted to committing the act, named an accomplice from Denbigh High School in the town whom he paid $3,000 to assist him.
Someone close to the boy's family told The Gleaner two other boys at the school hatched the plot.
