Part of the incentive programme was a competition was divided into three categories. The first category was an essay competition which had the students writing about the benefits of conserving energy. There was also a poster competition and an environment project in which schools developed projects which promote energy-saving practices.

The winner of the poster competition was Sheldon Thomas of Holy Trinity High School in Central Kingston. He walked away with an airline ticket to Disney World in Florida, courtesy of Air Jamaica.
Oneika Harris of New Day Primary and Junior High won the same trip for her essay and Edith Dalton-James High School in Duhaney Park, St. Andrew, won the environment section of the competition.
