LETTER OF THE DAY - PM must lead with national fasting!
published: Thursday | July 6, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS time to for us to stop ignoring the truth and time to stop pretending not to know what is needed in the nation at this time. Many of us as Christians know the truth and know that we need to put aside the pride and arrogance and do what God said. The Word of God tells us that there are some things that can only be dealt with by prayer and fasting. The nation needs to be called into three days of fasting - an Esther Fast (Esther 4). The Prime Minister herself, no one else, must lead this fast!

The Prime Minister of the nation has the authority to stop the judgment that is upon our nation now! (Jonah 3: 5 10; Joel 2; Esther 4). That is why God has placed her there as the head in this time. She needs to do this in order to cease the killing of the children and stop innocent blood from being shed and bring justice to the poor, the fatherless and the widowed.

GAINING FAVOUR WITH GOD

By calling this fast, the blood will stop running and the nation will experience peace, and return to a position of growth, prosperity and new investments. She must recognise that as a leader, God will give her favour as she walks in obedience to Him.

She should do this fast between the months of July and September, and the entire nation must be shut down for this fast! God will give her and this nation additional favour, and will turn things around. We will not lose anything, but we will certainly gain everything! She should listen to the Lord and obey before it is too late!

'PROPHETS' ARE WAITING

The Prime Minister must understand that not all the prophets around her are telling her the truth. Read Jeremiah 23, I Kings 13, and II Chronicles 18. This kind of stand in governmental leadership is being carried out for the first time in Jamaica, and many 'prophets' are eagerly waiting to jump on the bandwagon and carve out a position in government so that they may go down in history. But don't be deceived!

In her administration, there will be many voices, and they will all sound logical and accurate. But, the first voice she must listen to is the voice of the Lord God! (Matthew 6: 33). The Prime Minister must read His word daily and ask Him for the revelation of the Word, for Godly wisdom, and for His divine instructions and obey Him!

I am, etc.,
