All-Jamaica Junior Pan-Am Champs serve off tomorrow
published: Thursday | July 6, 2006

CAMPBELL

JAMAICA'S TOP juniors will face off when the Pan Caribbean All-Jamaica Junior Tennis Championships serve off at 9:00 a.m tomorrow at the newly-refurbished Eric Bell Tennis Centre.

More than 100 players from across the island will take part in the event which will feature under 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 and under singles and doubles categories.

Headlining the event will be Under-18 top gun Eldad Campbell, who recently made his debut in Jamaica's victory over Guatemala in this year's elimination Davis Cup tie.

TOP JUNIORS

He will be joined by the likes of Brandon Burke, Christopher Lawson, Tyler Chin, Kristopher Martin and top female juniors Kacia Riley and Pauline Hylton, who will be vying for top honours in one of the more notable events on the local tennis calendar.

The tournament is also expected to serve as valuable preparation for many of the players, several of whom will take part in the upcoming ITF Jamaica Junior International Championship which will also be held at the Eric Bell Tennis Centre from July 15-22.

The Pan Caribbean tournament will be the first held at the almost completed venue, where renovations got under way three months ago.

As a part of plans to continue developing the game, three other tennis centres are expected to be erected in Montego Bay, Mandeville and Ocho Rios over the next three years.
