Change of Government needed
published: Monday | July 10, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS A Jamaican living in New York for over 13 years, I have a few concerns over the economy and the crime that is ravaging our poor country. I think Jamaica needs a change of Government. The prime minister is not doing anything to help the poor people of Jamaica nor Parliament. I was happy when Portia Simpson Miller won the party presidential election, thinking she would bring something different from PJ. Boy, I was wrong. It's the chip off that same old block.

After reading the Gleaner today, I saw where she mentioned she will win the next election and Bruce Golding must remember she has responsibility for all Jamaicans including him. She sounds very impolite. She must remember she has to travel and represent Jamaica. Also she must remember she's being watched and listened to. She must stop acting as a ghetto girl. The people in Jamaica need a new Government which will work in their best interest.

I am, etc.,
