Good Samaritans
published: Thursday | July 13, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON THURSDAY morning, July 6, my helper told me that an accidental fire at 5 Birdsucker Lane during the previous night had burnt out the homes of seven families, who had no time to save anything.

I immediately phoned the headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 183 1/2 Constant Spring Road and asked them to help these people. Without delay these good people took emergency supplies to the victims and in the same afternoon they returned with more clothing, food, etc.

Delroy Chuck, the Member of Parliament for the area was also contacted, lost no time in responding with offers of building materials etc.

Thank God for these good people.

I am, etc.,

LEO MARCH C.D.

Garth Road, Kingston 8
