THE CLARENDON Crime Prevention Committee will stage a 10K road race on July 23 in May Pen.

More than $280,000 in prize money is on offer and, according to the racing organisers, Clarendon participants are in for the bulk of the cash prizes.

The top community runner will walk away with $40,000. Second place will receive $30,000 and third $20,000.

There will also be sectional prizes of $10,000 each for winners in the 50 and over, 35-50 and 18-35 categories while $6,000 and $4,000 respectively will be given to the winners in the 12-17 and Under-12 sections.

The race will take athletes from the Texaco service station in Toll Gate and in and around May Pen before ending at Leiba's Esso Tiger Market.

Athletes must contact their nearest police station, police youth club or Social Development Commission in May Pen for application forms.
