published: Thursday | July 20, 2006

CARBY

DR. BARBARA Carby, the director general of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), has resigned effective August 18.

According to Dr. Carby, she will be moving to the Cayman Islands to assist with the establishment of their national risk management office.

Dr. Carby joined the ODPEM in October 1997 in the capacity she now holds.

In the meantime, Dr. Carby says her decision to leave the ODPEM should not result in any interruption in its function.
