All hospitals need stand-by generators
published: Friday | July 21, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM very disgruntled by what happened in the island on the weekend. Jamaica is so small and yet power can't be supplied efficiently.

I think too many issues which are vital to our society are being ignored by our Government. Our hospitals and all health facilities need generators. There should be stand-bys in case of blackouts, like what happened last weekend. People's lives can be lost when each time we have major blackouts. Why pay so much for hospital bills when hospitals are not being adequately maintained?

I am, etc.,
