This weekend take a trip to rural Jamaica. While most will be at Sumfest in Montego Bay, St. James, take your family off to H'Evans Scent.
H'Evans Scent is a new, innovative, eco-tourism experience for both adults and children to enjoy. Some 2,000 feet up in the hills of St. Ann, the location affords breathtaking views of surrounding communities,
exhilarating activities and
down-to-earth hospitality.
REAL EXPERIENCE
H'Evans Scent is about releasing the inner you, says chief executive officer Derrick Evans. H'Evans Scent is the heaven of Jamaica. "It is a great family place, the real experience of the taste of Jamaica," he says.
It is the family experience not to be missed. Upon arrival at H'Evans Scent, each person is greeted with a natural fruit drink in a bamboo or coconut cup.
Next, a two to three-hour tour is offered. Orientation then takes place, followed by a 10-minute chat with Mama Tun-Tun she knows all about herbs and their benefits.
Most people in the surrounding communities go to her as an alternative to the doctor; she will explain that some things can be bought from your local health shop.
NATURE WALK
There is also a nature walk, where children will be able to see, feel, smell and touch whatever fruits are in season such as jackfruit and sugar cane.
There are many attractions that follow to give you pleasure at H'Evans Scent. There is harnessing that takes you on a zip and into the air. The climb is about 35 feet up into the air, using the staircase or the outside staples while attached to a belay rope. From the platform you zip (more likely fly) 440 feet across the valley, where catchers are waiting to remove you from the line.
Afterwards, relax in one of
the gazebos or lie back in a
hammock while the children
talk to the birds or play with the rabbits which are caged.
Take your children off to H'Evan's Scent. They will enjoy the 'country' ride while experiencing different adventures.
