Jamaica's Jason Morgan competes in the men's discus throw competition at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, Colombia, on Thursday night. Morgan won the silver medal.

Sprinter Xavier Brown snatched Jamaica's first gold medal in a track and field event at this 20th Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Cartegena, Colombia, yesterday when he finished first in the men's 200 metres final.
Brown, who went into the finals having run the third fastest time - clocking 20.81 in the preliminary rounds - turned it up a notch in the final and won with a time of 20.74 ahead of Colombia's Cuesta Murillo (20.78) and Barbadian Andrew Hinds (20.83).
Jamaica's 4x100 metres men's relay team also turned in an impressive performance in finishing first in their heat.
Up to press time last night, long jumper Herbert McGregor was still in medal contention and with three rounds to go occupied third place spot with a leap of 7.69 metres.
In action late on Thursday night, Jason Morgan added a silver medal to Jamaica's tally when he finished second in the men's discus event.
Morgan threw 56.56 metres, which placed him second behind Cuba's Hechavarria Lastre, who accomplished a distance of 57.00m.
Wilbert Walker added another bronze when he wrapped up third place in the men's triple jump event. Walker's leap of 16.35m placed him behind Cuba's Copello Sanchez 16.85 and teammate Francis Betanzos who won the event with a leap of 17.46m.
