Digicel praises cutting-edge role of show
published: Sunday | August 6, 2006

Something to smile about: Maurice Bryan, sponsorship and promotions manager - Digicel Jamaica, one of the title sponsors for the 2006 Jamaica Consumer Electronic Show, could not hide his delight when it was announced that Jamaica's newest singing sensation, Alaine would be the guest performer at the show.

As the Jamaica Consumer Electronic Show celebrates its sixth anniversary, Digicel is pleased to maintain its commitment, as a major sponsor of this truly exciting and cutting-edge event. The show is shaping up to be even greater this year and we look forward to showcasing our latest high technology offerings and sharing with local and regional exhibitors, retailers and distributors.

We at Digicel recognise the value of staying abreast of the latest developments in the electronics industry, and applaud the role that the Jamaica Consumer Electro-nics Show plays in building public awareness on modern trends and technologies in the industry.

hands-on demonstrations

Of note this year, we at Digicel, in collaboration with Sony Ericsson, will be giving hands-on demonstrations to patrons of the latest offering in the Sony Ericsson catalogue; the W810. This powerful music player has everything you need for a mobile music lifestyle; MP3 player, FM radio, 2 mega-pixel camera, video capability and full Internet access.

This service will be rolled out across the island, later this year.

In this fast-growing global industry, it is only fitting that Digicel support the Jamaica Consumer Electronics show. We affirm our interest in seeing Jamaica and the region become even more viable in the international marketplace, through the acquisition and sharing of information.

innovation and creativity

Through our involvement in this show, we gain foresight into the future of technology, inspiring and enhancing our ability to meet the needs of our customers through further innovation and creativity. Digicel's vision as an enterprising Caribbean business is to strive for and retain world-class standards in all we do. We are thrilled to be involved with this world-class show and we know every participant will have a doubly exciting and entertaining time this year - as always!

We congratulate the organisers of the Jamaica Consumer Electronics Show for their work in sustaining this grand exposition. This event will once again serve as a necessary outlet for participants, consumers, enthusiasts, students and the public in general, to gain knowledge and access to advancements in the field.

Digicel wishes the show, its organisers and staff, great success.
