It's that time of year again when we present the beauties. The Gleaner, in the upcoming weeks will run profiles of all the contestants in the 2006 Miss Jamaica World pageant ahead of the finals on August 19. 15 girls are vying for the prestigious title and the opportunity to follow in Terri-Karelle Griffiths' footsteps. Today, we present ...J'nelle Stephenson, Miss Acropolis Gaming Entertainment Centre

How do you feel about Jamaica's performance in pageants over the years?

I think Jamaica has done pretty well at competing in pageants over the years.

What in your opinion is your best quality?

My best quality is I'm very friendly and I'm an open person towards people.

Do you think beauty pageants are still relevant and why?

Well, in terms of development of young girls, I think its extremely relevant because it helps to build confidence and it teaches you basic etiquette and things that girls need to know. Its a good opportunity.

How does this competition fit into your plans for the future?

It helps me to be more self confident and that will help me in the future.

Which of the mini-competitions do you stand the best chance of winning?

That's a hard one, everyone is really good at everything. But I think beach beauty because of my build.

Q: Name three must-haves.

My friends, my family and my home.

Why should you win the title of Miss Jamaica World 2006?

Jamaicans need someone who will listen to them, who they can talk to, I could be that person for them.
