The Editor, Sir:
Dr. THE Honourable Louise Bennett-Coverley has, undoubtedly, served not merely in the glorification and advertising of our beautiful nation, Jamaica land we love, and its unique culture, including our endemic language of colour and flair, but very importantly, she has engaged the fostering and augmenting of a lifestyle of self-worth on the part of the Jamaican masses.
This was achieved during an era when most of us were on the verge of losing hope due to our torturous economic stagnation and a perceived unrelenting proliferation of poverty and hopelessness.
She has also, in highlighting the relevance and high standard of Jamaicans' creativity and intellect, set the pace for aiding in a better reception for Jamaicans who reside or travel abroad.
