Coming fast on the heels of last month's awards presentation luncheon in Atlanta, Georgia, high school counsellor Elaine Bryan was presented with yet another award at the 2006 Atlanta-Jamaica Association Ball for outstanding achievement in education. The ball was held on Saturday, August 5, at the Atlanta Hilton downtown. She received the award from the Atlanta-Jamaica executive and members.
The guest speaker was former Prime Minister, The Most Hon. P.J. Patterson. He commended the recipients and encouraged them to continue shining for Jamaica.
Also presented with an award was Jewell Scott, Clayton County District Attorney. Her award was for outstanding personal achievement.
Gregory Bryan opened the proceedings by playing the United States and Jamaican national anthems. The night ended with dance to Monty Montgomery and his band. It was a very enjoyable event and patrons danced the night away.
At a luncheon held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Buckhead, Atlanta, last month, Mrs. Bryan received TBS Education Award from Turner Entertainment Networks; the Phoenix Award from the Mayor of Atlanta and a letter of commendation from the Governor of Atlanta. She is also the first recipient of the Judge Glenda Hatchet Reach for a Better Future Inspiring Excellence Award.
