Be not afraid to seek alternative solutions
published: Saturday | August 12, 2006

Mai'khi C'Nia

Now it came to pass that in the age of technological advancement Jamdown became well endowed in the entrapments of the times for the Fresh Prince had utilised his legendary negotiating acumen to disentangle the land from the clutches of a telecommunications monopoly, and the baby minister in the Cabinet who was prone to a rush of youthful exuberance was given the mandate to navigate the rock onto the information highway.

And Phillip much to his credit transformed the industry to a vibrant cauldron of competition such that Jamdowners began sporting mobile solutions in pairs and e'en in triple in some cases.

Yea, they wouldst sling a 'cellie' on their hips whilst engrossed on their 'digi' and all else couldst descend to Hades in a basket for Jamdowners hath received unto themselves the facility to natter to their hearts' content anytime and anyplace.

And the sale of phone cards became the vendor's star performer out on the streets.

ASTRONOMICAL MOBILE RATES

Now there was a certain company which hailed from the land of Guinness and shamrock which entered the market at the turn of the second millennium. And Jamdowners welcomed them with open arms for their arrival rescued the communications public from the tyranny of a telecoms giant who for many moons bamboozled the people with astronomical mobile rates.

And the sons of St. Patrick promised that they would also grant the people alleviation in landlines where they were hurting the most. But when the men from the Emerald Isle gazed upon their tremendous success and saw that it was to the tune of three quarters of the mobile market, they rejoiced and shelved their plans for the landline sector, thus leaving the hapless customers to the mercy of the smitten giant.

Dearly beloved, the giant roared and turned on an atrocious display of customer service the likes of which was never beheld in the land, not e'en from agencies within the administration.

Hear O Jamdown, for the advances of technology art such this day that thou shouldst not settle for being kuffed by any provider whatsoever. Know ye that thou art the customer and the power belongs to you wherever an environment of competition exists. Therefore, when telecommunications leprechauns disappointed thee and when corporate ogres threaten to devour thee whole, chop down their beanstalk and seek alternative service-oriented solutions to administer unto thee. Selah.
