What justice for the poor?
published: Tuesday | August 15, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I would like to express my deep disgust for this justice system on how it treats too many of our poor people.

My cousin for more than 30 years has been trying to recover his land in Portland which was stolen from his parents from he was a little boy but to no avail.

The court keeps putting off the case. He and his brother were even once thrown into jail for going on that land.

My cousin is almost 90 years old now and still this case is continually being put off.

When will he get his land back? When he is in his grave? And don't tell me his children and grandchildren will get it, for that's the way of the hypocrite.

I am, etc.,

E. P

Portland
