THE EDITOR, Sir:
Sometime I am led to believe that the only person (s) who have any love and understanding for Dr. Omar Davies are his parents who brought him into this world.
It cannot be denied that there was a financial melt-down in the nineties. If the Government did not intervene, many depositors would have ended in the mental institution. Having been rescued by the Government, reminded me of the encounter of the scorpion and the turkey - we complain because it is our nature.
I firmly believe that Dr. Davies is a sincere and honest person It is "human to err and divine to forgive" because he is human. He has an international reputation as one who fought against the jaws of the IMF and succeeded.
Many Jamaicans do not realise that there is an economical reality for us to face. There are so many of us who want to eat out of the financial 'pot' but refuse to contribute to the condiment that goes into it.
I am personally convinced that irrespective of who is the Minister of Finance, he will not be a bedfellow of most. To Dr. Davis I say, 'Uneasy that lies the head that wears a crown.'
I am, etc.,
