A FIRST-half hat-trick from Harbour View's Andre Rose guided their Under-13s to a 4-1 win over Bull Bay, while both teams' Under-17s played to a 0-0 stalemate in Tuesday's doubleheader of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association's (KSAFA) Under-13 and Under-17 leagues played at the Bull Pen in St. Andrew.
Rose scored in the eighth, 20th and 27th minutes and was supported by Damion Lowe, who scored in the 39th, while Bull Bay's lone goal came from Ackeem Anglin, who scored in the 29th minute.
In the senior game which was a top-of-the-table Zone A clash for places in next week's quarter-finals, it was the home team who turned out the more aggressive of the two teams with more threatening chances on goal in a game that saw Harbour View dominating ball possession.
The game's best chances came from two Bull Bay attacks in the first half. The first in the 16th minute when Stephen Squire dribbled past two Harbour View defenders down the right wing before cutting into the 18-yard to lob the ball over the head of Kirkland Hamilton in goal, but his shot hit the left upright and was cleared by a defender.
ACCURACY
The second came in the 38th minute when a one-two return pass between two Bull Bay players around Harbour View's penalty area found Ranique Muir alone in the box with just the goalkeeper to beat but, after substituting power for accuracy, he found his shot denied by Hamilton who was called upon to make a number of saves throughout the game.
The results guaranteed both Harbour View teams a spot in the quarter-finals as the juniors ended the group stage on 13 points, three points shy of group winners, Rae Town.
The under-17's draw pushed them to 10 points and first place in the group with Bull Bay being the second team to advance from the group with seven.
In the day's other Zone B games, Real Mona were the only other team to book a spot in the quarter-finals as their unbeaten under-13s ended the group phase with 19 points from their seven games, while their seniors ended their group with a 100 per cent win record from their seven games.
The second spots for both competitions in this zone should be decided at the weekend.
