Roper Cup kicks off on Saturday
published: Wednesday | August 23, 2006

STEEPED IN proud tradition and intense rivalry, the 42nd instalment of the Roper Cup, the annual North Street derby between St George's College and Kingston College, will kick off on Saturday at the St George's College.

For the second year in a row there will be five of the schools' teams taking part instead of just the traditional three. Traditionally, it had been just the Under-35s, Over-35s and Manning Cup teams, but the Under-14 and Under-16 teams will be added to the fray this year.

This means five games being played beginning with the Under 14s, followed by the Under 16s, the 35 and Unders, the 35 and Overs and then the feature games between the Manning Cup teams which will kick off at 4:00 p.m.
