P.A. Benjamin has added new products to its line of savouries, flavourings and home remedies, under a plan to boost its export sales by 100 per cent by 2010.
Its brands are currently marketed in over 20 countries and export sales now account for approximately 30 per cent of total sales, according to marketing consultant Yvonne Johnson, quoted in a release on the product roll-outs.
Benjamin has added cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger extracts - liquefied spices that formerly were available only in powdered form. The company has also expanded its pharmaceutical line, spending 'millions' on product development, and has added a remedy of honey, rum and lime, used for relief of a sore throat, flu ailments and hoarseness, under its Honey Time label; as well as Benjamin's multi-symptom flu, sinus elixir and antacid/anti-gas remedy.
"Benjamin's products, especially our new spices, are made using Jamaican-grown raw materials," said brand manager Christopher Powell.
"This is Benjamin's guarantee of potency and quality."
The roll-out also includes two jerk seasonings and a cocoa butter lotion.
