Devon House an eyesore
published: Sunday | August 27, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I read in The Gleaner where Heather Robinson wrote her piece on Devon House. Well that's what my heart has really been bleeding about for the past three or so years.

My children live in Moneague and they come to see me on holidays and I am so embarrassed to take them there.

We had gone there about two times to have ice cream and take pictures on the verandah at the front. I love the verandah's old-fashioned design so much, but the landscape, fencing and the whole appearance needs rearranging.

It seems these people who had the shops don't even care, because they are making money, but they would make more money if the place was attractive.

The place is an eyesore now that Emancipation Park is there. I think less people will go to Devon House. Devon House only attracts more idlers and people who want to steal love and have free accommodation for their immoral behaviours, doing things that are abominable.

I am, etc.,

JOAN MILLER
