Doris Earl (right) and her daughter Merlyn Cooper cut the cake at Earl's 80th birthday celebration held at Arian's Restaurant, Spanish Village Plaza, Spanish Town, on Saturday, August 19. - Winston Sill/Freelance Photographer

Eighty years is a milestone indeed, and Doris Earl is living it right now. So last Saturday, she got quite a surprise when members of her family, and members of her church, All Saints Pentecostal in Spanish Town, threw a birthday party for her at the Arian's Restaurant in the Spanish Village Plaza in Twickenham Park. Completely caught off guard, Ms. Earl was very thankful to everyone who came out, and definitely enjoyed herself.
