More nominees for People's National Party (PNP) VP posts
published: Friday | September 1, 2006

Three more names were submitted on the final day for nominations to contest the four People's National Party (PNP) vice-presidential posts at the party's next annual conference in September, bringing the final number of candidates to seven.

They are Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) Councillor Angela Brown-Burke; south central St. Catherine Member of Parliament, Sharon Hay Webster; Labour Minister Derrick Kellier; State Minister for industry and technology, Kern Spencer; PNP activist Louis Moyston; National Security Minister Dr. Peter Phillips and Member of Parliament for Eastern St. Thomas, Dr. Fenton Ferguson.

Party General Secretary Colin Campbell confirmed that Moyston had been encouraged to pull out of the race but said the requests did not come from senior party officials.

The election is slated for September 23 during the party's annual conference.
