Wild Friday at FFK
published: Friday | September 1, 2006

One of the ladies of FFK models an outfit from Exhale at the Party For Charity.

It was a wild Friday night at Fraiser Fontaine and Kong limited's office on Pawsey Place as the company hosted a 'Party for Charity.'

The Emergency Medical Services and the Lupus Foundation of Jamaica benefited from this event and guests were determined to have a good time while raising money. Merritone Disco kept the guests bouncing from the beginning with their selections ranging from rocksteady to soca to early '90s dancehall. Most guests decided to make their dancing spaces under the food and beverage tents. They would be drawn out soon enough, but more anon.

The gentlemen then had much to howl (almost literally) about when some of the ladies of FFK turned models, showing off clothes from Exhale. The ladies showed off business, casually elegant and casual outfits and by the whistles and howls, there wasn't an 'ordinary' piece among the selections.

But the real fun and games came with the spot prize competitions especially for the five Cable and Wireless phones. With David Reavly, senior vice-president of Mobile Services at Cable & Wireless playing ringmaster, participants did all sorts of crazy things. For example, the first man to come up on stage wearing a pair of lady's heels with the woman also coming up barefoot. Or the first woman carrying a man (yes, actually carrying him). The final catch was that they had to produce a thousand dollar bill in addition. Like we said, this was for charity. There was no shortage of entrants or of 'Joshuas' being flashed around, all toward helping two needy causes.

Real bubblers

Special guest artistes Alozade and Zumjay gave brief but lively performances and their repertoire including some more of the dancehall tunes running the place right now got the 'real bubblers' on the dancefloor.

That was of course, a great note on which to introduce the dutty wine contest!

If you thought the crowd was into the party mode before, they were really up for it now. It was hard to decipher who was the winner of the three ladies but eventually a winner was decided.

All contests now over, Merritone then took over with some more delightful tracks.
