Bull Bay defeated Cavalier 3-1 in the quar-ter-finals of the Kingston and St. Andrew Association's (KSAFA) Under-17 football competition at the Mountain View Oval on Wednesday.

Bull Bay, led by a double strike from Ramario Wright, dominated the first half, but failed to score as poor finishing from Ranique Muir and Andrew Wong let them down.

Cavalier's Derrick Palmer also squandered a number of clear chances.

Beautiful pass

However, in the 41st minute, Wright was on the receiving end of a beautiful pass from teammate Wong, which he easily put away into the back of the net.

Robert Taylor gave Cavalier the equaliser in the 66th minute when he ran by two Bull Bay defenders and calmly slotted home from close range past goalkeeper Oshane Powell.

Wright scored his second goal in the 71st minute with a fine, long-range header that flew over the head of the Cavalier goalkeeper.

Bull Bay took charge of the rest of the second period and, in the 79th minute, Andre Aikens put the issue beyond doubt when he picked up a loose ball from just inside the centre circle and fired it into the back of the net to give the East Kingston team a deserved victory.

Happy with win

Owen Wright, coach of Bull Bay, was very happy with the win.

"This victory was due to just hard work and dedication. We have been doing a lot of hard work in training and it paid off today because the guys knew that if we didn't win this game we would be out of the competition," Wright said.

"I am very happy because it has been a long time since we have made the semi-finals and all we have to do is to continue to maintain our focus," he said.

In tomorrow's semi-finals, Bull Bay will meet Waterhouse at 3:30 p.m. while Harbour View will clash with Meadhaven at 5:00 in a double-header at Barbican.
