OLYMPIC GAMES silver medallist Danny McFarlane and World Junior 200m record holder Usain Bolt were Jamaican winners at yesterday's 56th edition of the Hanzekovic Memorial track meet in Zagreb, Croatia.

Bolt secured victory in the men's 200m in 20.49 seconds, ahead of Trinidad and Tobago's Jacey Harper (20.65) and American Rodney Martin (20.69).

In the men's 400m hurdles, McFarlane turned the table on Kemel Thompson by winning the event in 48.93 seconds.

Thompson, who beat McFarlane, the national champion, at Sunday's 36th annual international athletics meeting in Rieti, Italy, finished second in 49.34 seconds. American James Carter was third in 49.35.

Maurice Wignall was fourth in the men's 110m hurdles, which was won by Allen Johnson of United States (13.19). Wignall timed 13.38 seconds.

Lorraine Fenton continued to struggle on her comeback, finishing fifth in the women's 400m in 52.59 seconds.

Bulgaria's Vania Stambolova won the event in 50.37 seconds. Former national 400m champion Brandon Simpson, now representing Bahrain, won the men's one-lap event in 45.33 seconds.

Grenada's Alleyne Francique, a World Indoor gold medallist, was second in 45.74, while American Derrick Brew was third in 46.11.
