Your news team has taken pictures of the deplorable health facility in Golden Spring, west rural St Andrew. We had hoped that these graphic pictures would move the conscience of those in authority, but to no avail.

The acting executive director of the Bureau of Women's Affairs, Mrs. Faith Webster, has visited and written a detailed letter regarding the state of the facility to Hon. Horace Dalley, Minister of Health. Hon. Dalley replies in a letter dated July 13, 2006 to say that he would investigate the issue.

Prior to this, Mrs. Jaculine Simmonds Goulbourne of the South East Regional Health Authority, and Parish Manager for St. Andrew, did a detailed investigation into the matter and documented her findings.

It appears that we are adept at conducting investigations when the ugly facts stare us in the face.
