THE EDITOR, Sir:
We the teachers of the Norman Gardens Primary and Junior High School would like to use this medium to say a big congratulation to Timar Jackson of Vauxhall High School for successfully passing nine (six distinctions and three credits) subjects in the recent CXC Examinations.
As a past student of the Norman Gardens Primary and Junior High School, Timar grasped the foundation that he needed on his quest for upward mobility. Even though most of his peers got passes for traditional high schools when he was at the GSAT level, that did not daunt his spirit when he was placed at the Vauxhall High School and with the constant guidance of his mother, Janet, he went there, worked tirelessly and was promoted to the highest student position, Head Boy. These are notable achievements and must be seen by other students that it does not matter which school you are placed, but moreso the result of the work you put in.
Let us once more say congratulations to Timar and also the staff of Vauxhall High School, our partners in this business of education.
I am, etc.,
C. HARRIS
