Opposition asked to clarify position on crime
published: Saturday | September 9, 2006

Anthony

CASTRIES, St. Lucia (CMC):

The ruling St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has gone on the offensive ahead of official campaigning for the upcoming general election by calling on the main opposition United Workers Party (UWP) to state its position on the crime situation on the island.

In a statement, SLP leader and Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony said that despite a public announcement by the UWP that it would be outlining its "proposals to further reduce unemployment and crime" during a public meeting earlier this month, it "did not produce or offer any serious policies worth mentioning".
